Rumor: Capitals bringing back old school jersey design next season.

There has reportedly been a leak about an awesome jersey design that the Washington Capitals are looking to bring out at some point during the course of the next season.

According to a report from Lucas Daitchman of the PHF, sources have informed him that the Capitals will once again be bringing back the screaming eagle jersey design when the National Hockey League brings back the Reverse Retro program next year. Daitchman was even able to obtain some details regarding the jersey, most notably that this time around he expects the jersey to be black.

Best of all however is that Daitchman has created a mockup of what he believes the jersey will look like when it is all said and done, and if this is anything close to the real thing than I believe it will once again prove to be one of the top sellers in the Reverse Retro collection.

Daitchman has made predictions of this nature in the past and you would be hard pressed to argue that he hasn't been pretty accurate on some of those past predictions. Daitchman shared some evidence as well along with his latest prediction, as if to add even more credibility to this alleged leak.

Everyone over the course of their lives has heard the age old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it," and that would appear to be the logic the Capitals are applying here with this jersey design. Not only was the release of their last screaming eagle Reverse Retro jersey a massive financial success, but it was also voted as one of the best designs by players from around the National Hockey League. 

In a poll run by the NHLPA the players voted for their favorite jersey and the Capitals screaming eagle jersey landed in a 3 way tie for 5th place alongside the Anaheim Ducks and the Florida Panthers, with only the Colorado Avalanche (1st), Los Angeles Kings (2nd), Calgary Flames (3rd) and the Minnesota Wild (4th, coming ahead of them in that poll.
