There has been effectively no activity at the trade deadline, with the exception of one very minor deal, but it does sound like there are some teams looking to make some major moves, although that does not mean they will happen.
It's no secret that he biggest weakness for the Dallas Stars is their blue line, and it appears that the Dallas Stars intend to make a major push to remedy that weakness. According to TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger Dallas is looking to add not one but two defensemen to their line up, Calgary's Kris Russel and Vancouver's Dan Hamhuis.
Dreger calls the likelihood of Dallas getting both players highly unlikely, but Dallas is trying to make it an unlikely reality.

Stars remain dialed in on Russell and Hamhuis. Highly unlikely, but is it possible to land both? Too early to rule anything out.
