Rumor: Florida Panthers partied until 3 am the night before Game 4.
Are the Panthers not taking this seriously?
There is a big rumor floating around regarding the Florida Panthers, one that doesn't exactly paint the team or its players in a favorable light.
On Monday, following a loss in Game 3 for the Panthers that left them down 3-0 in their second round Stanley Cup playoff series against inter state rivals the Tampa Bay Lightning, WFLA NewsRadio host Aaron Jacobson dropped the rumor live on air when he explained that someone he considers a very trusted source spotted the Panthers partying late into the early hours of the morning.
"You would think, if you're getting your butt kicked, you would wanna rest if you're the Florida Panthers right," asked Jacobson setting up his story. "Well according to a very trusted source this happened. A lot of the Panthers team, I don't wanna say all of em, they were partying late into the night last night and found themselves at a local establishment at which there are women who dance for money on stages."
Jacobson acknowledged that the whole thing sounded like a pretty good time and even indicated that it might be something that he himself would enjoy. The radio host however went on to question whether or not this was the right thing for the Panthers to be doing given the context of their current predicament in this series.
"Even myself, the degenerate that I am, I don't think if I was getting my butt kicked in a huge playoff series, and the day of getting my butt kicked earlier on in the day with a grueling back to back the following day which is today, even me the head of the degenerates I don't think I could pull that off."
As for how they were able to pin down the exact time until which the Panthers were out partying? It sounds like some text messages may have been leaked to Jacobson which would provide him with some timestamps.
"Hanging out into the night at least 2:45 am, could have been later, but that's the latest the source got this information."
According to Jacobson's co-host that text said something to the effect of "We just got a bottle and we're leaving," implying that they were there even beyond that 2:45 mark mentioned by Jacobson.
This is of course only a rumor at this time and without any actual evidence there's no way to confirm or deny the voracity of Jacobson's claims, but it might be worth keeping an eye on whether or not the Panthers deliver a lethargic performance in Game 4.
