Rumor: Iginla opens negotiations with Canadian team
First Jagr, now Iggy… could we see the return of another Hall-of-Famer?

According to a report from online hockey scout and reporter Joshua Marshall, the Edmonton Oilers have re-opened negotiations with veteran forward Jarome Iginla.
Which the validity of Marshall’s sources cannot be verified, it’s an interesting development in the Iginla saga nonetheless. Still without a contract for the 2017-18 season, it was thought that the 40-year-old had NHL offers, but was holding out for the “right fit” for both himself and his family. Given that he’s an Edmonton native and that his family has grown up in the province of Alberta, the Oilers make perfect sense.
But still, how would you feel about Iggy in an Oilers jersey? The Calgary Flames legend would just look… strange. Regardless, it would be great to see the future Hall-of-Famer lace up the skates for at least one more season.
