Ladies and gentlemen, the King has returned.

According to multiple online rumor reports, the Pittsburgh Penguins have offered veteran free agent (with an emphasis on VETERAN) Jaromir Jagr to a one year, league-minimum contract for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

It's important to note that, as of yet, no real quality NHL insiders are reporting on this rumor. So, for now, it's all just conjecture.

But... for a moment.. let's believe that it's real.

Imagine a 51 year old Jagr returning to the NHL and the the Penguins, no less. It's like a story out of a Disney movie. Jagr last played in the NHL during the 2017-18 season with the Calgary Flames, putting up just one goal and seven points in 22 contests. The previous season with the Florida Panthers though he was very productive with 16 goals and 46 points in 82 games. In total he has an astounding 766 goals and 1921 points in 1733 games split between the Flames Panthers, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers, Washington Capitals and Penguins.

Since 2018, Jagr has starred with his hometown Kladno Knights of the Czech Extralige. Jagr owns the team and essentially pays his own salary to keep the team afloat. He hd five goals and 14 points in 26 games with the team this past season.
