Nobody expected that Jaromir Jagr would still be without an NHL contract on July 24, more than three weeks after the opening of the free agent market. Even though he posted 16 goals and 30 assists in 82 games last season, it seems like some teams believe he is not worth the kind of money he asks for.
No contract? No problem for the 45-year-old, who according to Czech hockey reporter Zdenek Janda, decided to skate with HC-Kladno, his hometown club:
Him spending the offseason in Czech Republic does not mean he wont be back in the NHL. He regularly skates there during the offseason, since the club is owned by his father. The future Hall of Famer also believes he can still compete and have an impact in the NHL.
The Czech forward played 1711 games in the NHL, in which he recorded 765 goals and 1149 assists for 1914 points. He earned 4 million last season with the Florida Panthers, and reportedly asked for the same numbers this year
