Coach Q is furious against the organization

Visibly, Joel Quenneville is one angry man right now.

Approximately 20 minutes before the blockbuster trade, the Blackhawks moved defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson to the Arizona Coyotes. The return for Chicago was defenseman Connor Murphy and center Laurent Dauphin.

After, the Blackhawks shipped winger Artemi Panarin, the Calder Trophy winner in 2015-16, along with Tyler Motte and a sixth-round pick on Friday draft to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for former Blackhawk Brandon Saad, goaltender Anton Forsberg and a 2018 fifth-round pick.

Well, according to The Complete Hockey News “Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville left the team meeting at the hotel, immediately got into a cab and left.”

Adding to the fact that at the time of Kitchen’s firing, critics and analysts of the move saw it as a direct shot at head coach Joel Quenneville. Kitchen had been Quenneville’s long-time assistant and, according to reports, Quenneville was not consulted or notified of the firing ahead of Bowman’s decision.
