The Toronto Maple Leafs have a particularly glaring need on the blue line, especially on the right side. While everyone is buzzing about the likes of Erik Karlsson, Drew Doughty, and Oliver Ekman-Larsson, a more likely player to be targeted is Colin Miller of the Vegas Golden Knights.
As a right-handed shot and top four defenseman on one of the league's best teams, Miller has proved himself to be one of the most valuable players on the team. He plays a sound defensive game, all the while putting up strong numbers on the score sheet. He has over half a point per game, with 19 in 35 games.
He was selected in the expansion draft from the Boston Bruins this past June, and he's thrived on his new team. All the big names in the media believed that Lou Lamoriello was making a push to acquire Miller from Vegas following the expansion draft, but such a deal never transpired.
Now, with nearly half the season gone, and Nikita Zaitsev out for awhile, this is the perfect time to circle back to that discussion.
James Tanner of Editor in Leaf believes the price for Miller would be a first round pick and Connor Brown. This is conjecture on his part but given Miller's significance to Vegas, this would likely be the cost.
Ray Ferraro describes him as a right-shot Jake Gardiner. Would you pay this price for Miller?
