Price is extremely high though.

If you’re a National Hockey League franchise in need of a defenseman the New York Islanders have a very good one available, but it’s going to cost you big time. While it’s impossible to truly know what exactly, NHL general managers are truly asking for when they put a player on the trading block, thanks to insiders we sometimes get a hint at those demands.

Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman reported he, “thinks the Maple Leafs are in the mix for Travis Hamonic. He doesn’t know that Dallas Stars are, but it wouldn’t surprise him if they were.”

However, according to Friedman, the asking price seems to be two first-round pick in return of the New York Islanders defenseman.

Hamonic had demanded a trade in the past, but that situation eventually died down and it appeared that the Islanders and Hamonic were in it together for the long haul. However the Islanders clearly don’t feel the same way, and are now trying to get a maximum possible return for trading him away.
