Unexpected team entered the T.J. Oshie derby

When the Washington Capitals’ season ended with another disappointing playoff loss, it was difficult to find anyone in the team’s dressing room who was optimistic for the future.

Capitals GM needs to qualify a lot of key RFAs like Evgeny Kuznetsov, Andre Burakovsky, Dmitry Orlov and Nate Schmidt. That’s a lot of work to accomplish in such a short period of time.

However, maybe he won’t have to qualify T.J. Oshie and might be tempted to trade him if he receives the right offer. According to what NHL insider Andy Strickland reported earlier today.

“TJ Oshie is being strongly considered replacing Panarin and play with Kane. May have to take less money.”

It will be interesting to see what will happen tonight at the NHL entry draft.
