Rumor: Nash could become hottest commodity on the trade market!

The New York Rangers and star forward Rick Nash have yet to sit down and talk about a contract extension. The 33-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the forward could end up landing on the trading block. 

Although Nash is hoping to stay in New York, and the Rangers like him and appreciate his offense boost, there has been no common ground on an extension which could lead to a trade. 

The Rangers are looking for cap flexibility and right now, it is too early to tell if they just hammer out a new deal or shop Nash around on the market. If ever Nash lands on the trading block, he will be a hot commodity though he needs to agree to be traded to 12 teams. 

Friedman has noted that the Rangers have to ask for a list, which they haven't done, yet.
