In spite of the fact that he has yet to play even a single game this season, free agent National Hockey League forward Phil Kessel remains on the mind of many a hockey fan.

There has been an expectation that, at least at some point this season, Kessel will sign on with another team in the NHL and continue his ironman streak but it sounds like Phil The Thrill may be tired of waiting for NHL teams to make a move.

On Saturday, NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reported that Kessel is now considering playing games over in Switzerland's Swiss League, likely as a way to remain in shape while simultaneously showcasing his skills to teams in the NHL. LeBrun reports that Kessel is currently looking into the possibility of going overseas but makes it clear that no final decision has been made just yet.

Given this report you can expect that Kessel has already had talks with teams in the Swiss League, but no word yet on what team might be the one to sign him should he make the move to Switzerland.

Stay tuned for more on this developing story.
