According to a report from hockey blogger Jimmy Murphy the Pittsburgh Penguins recently turned down a trade offer from the Colorado Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic for forward Matt Duchene.
That’s no big surprise really, the Pens have been in the mix to land Duchene’s services since the beginning. What is a surprise however, is the asking price from the Avs.

Wow… with all of the rumors surrounding Sakic’s insane trade demands, this one actually seems reasonable. So, why did the Penguins decline?
