Rumor: P.K. Subban was back on the trading block this summer!

It's almost unbelievable, but it sounds like Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban may have once again been on the trading block this summer.

In his most recent '30 Thoughts' article Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that he received information this summer that the Colorado Avalanche may have attempted to acquire Subban in a trade for star forward Matt Duchene.

From Friedman:

Duchene would love to go to Nashville, and the Predators have been a legit pursuer. In fact, a couple of players said they heard this summer about rumours of a Duchene for PK Subban deal.

Friedman reached out to both general managers for comment about the rumors but neither provided him with a comment, unsurprising given the magnitude of such a trade if it were to become a reality.

Despite the rumors, Friedman believes that the major injury suffered by Ryan Ellis has now made it unlikely that the Predators would pull the trigger on this deal, although anything is possible in the National Hockey League.
