Wouldn't be able to stop him if he does

With the NHL expansion project at the doorsteps with Las Vegas receiving their first ever hockey club, the Boston Bruins may see one of their own shipped there.

Adam McQuaid has a tolerable salary cap of 2.75 million dollars, and does not have a no-trade clause in his contract. This means that should the Las Vegas team decide to draft him in the Expansion Draft, they'd be able to without a problem, and the Bruins would have to respect their decision.

This would liberate some cap space for the Bruins (along with Chara's 4 million cap hit next season), but would it be worth it to lose him to an Expansion Draft? With the upcoming talent in Providence from players like Carlo and O’Gara, the Bruins are set up nicely to fill in that gap, should it happen.
