Rumor recently fired coach could be quickly be picked up by rival NHL team.

It's a rough day for every member of the St. Louis Blues coaching staff as four members of that staff were terminated earlier today, but one of those men may not have to wait long before finding his next job in the National Hockey League.

Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman believes that former NHL defenseman Rick Wilson, who was among those fired today, could end up as a member of the Dallas Stars.

According to Friedman Wilson has a longstanding history with veteran Ken Hitchcock, who has taken over the role of head coach in Dallas, and Friedman would not be surprised to see Wilson moving from St. Louis, where he worked under Hitchcock, to Dallas.

Wilson formerly played for the Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, and Detroit Red Wings during his 239 game NHL career. He then began coaching in the WHL prior to his first NHL job as an assistant coach in 1988 with the New York Islanders. Wilson has 30 years of coaching experience in the NHL so it's easy to see why he would be valued by a rival franchise.
