Rumor: Sonny Milano has agreed to a PTO!

Milano signs a PTO.

Given the tight salary cap constraints imposed on team's across the National Hockey League due to the challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, free agents this summer have had the squeeze put on them by teams all across the league.

We may have yet another very good example of this in the form of a big time rumor involving free agent forward Sonny Milano. According to a breaking news report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the former Anaheim Ducks forward has agreed to a professional tryout offer (PTO) with the Calgary Flames.

Milano had a career best season with the Ducks last season which no doubt has to make settling for a PTO a difficult decision on his part. The 26 year old former first round pick (16th overall) at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft had 14 goals and 20 assists for a total of 34 points in 66 games last season.
