Three NHL Star Russian Players Reportedly Lied on Their Age
One NHL insider dropped a bomb this morning on 91.9 Sports regarding three NHL star players. Martin Leclerc, a valuable insider working for Radio-Canada, was invited to speak about Radulov’s contract extension on 91.9 Sports radio this morning.
During the interview, Leclerc dropped what could be a real bomb in the sports world. According to what he heard around the league and multiple sources, three Star Russian NHL players reportedly lied on their age.
“There are persistent rumors and very well-informed people around the NHL that states Ovechkin is not the age he pretends to be” said Leclerc.
“With the Russian, you never know their age. It’s the same problems the MLB faced with Dominican players” continued Leclerc.
The three Russian players cited by Martin Leclerc are: Alex Ovechkin, Alex Radulov and Mikhail Grigorenko.
According to Leclerc, junior players confirmed that Grigorenko was 21 or 22 years old when he was playing junior which means he was too old for the league as the limit is 20 years old.
What’s the matter? Well, being older gives you an advantage on the other players which may result of being drafted earlier.
