There are rumors that a three-time All-Star may not re-sign with the only team he has every played for during his National Hockey League career.

During a recent article previewing the 2017 NHL expansion draft for ESPN, insider Pierre LeBrun dropped a little nugget of information regarding the future of Patrick Marleau as a San Jose Shark.

From LeBrun:

Another 37-year-old Sharks forward is a pending UFA: Patrick Marleau, who has only played for the Sharks his entire NHL career. I'm not sure what the future holds for Marleau, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's not re-signed.

Marleau has played in 1449 NHL games, all of them with the San Jose Sharks and it would be interesting to see if he wants to continue playing even if it means signing with a new team for the first time since being drafted by the Sharks in 1997.
