Trade rumors have been swirling for months, with little action, as far as big names are concerned. Matt DucheneAndreas Athanasiou, and John Tavares are all names that are out there.

Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin, notorious for making groundbreaking trades, most notably P.K. Subban for Shea Weber, and Mikhail Sergachev for Jonathan Drouin.

He's been spotted at his fourth New York Islanders game in this early season.

It's no secret that Bergevin is in the market for a top center. Drouin is occupying the role admirably, but he may be more effective on the wing.

At this point, anyone is fair game on the Canadiens', excluding a few players such as Shea WeberCarey Price, and Victor Mete

Sportsnet reporter Eric Engels believes that perennial 30 goal scorer Max Pacioretty could even be made available.

That cap space needs to go somewhere.

Of course, Bergevin could be targeting someone else, and he hardly needs to scout Tavares, but who knows.

We may have a blockbuster on our hands.
