We have some huge speculation regarding the ongoing Matt Duchene situation coming from TSN insider Frank Seravalli.
First Servalli was asked whether or not he felt Duchene could skip training camp in order to apply additional pressure on general manager Joe Sakic to make a trade.
"I think that's a growing possibility. Matt Duchene certainly raised eyebrows around the Colorado Avalanche when he was the only forward.. not to participate in a voluntary skate."
Servalli also commented on how Duchene views his current situation, and needless to say his response was not at all flattering for the Avalanche.
"I think he is looking at this situation with the Avalanche that has not been handled particularly well... The fact that his name has dangled out on the market for so long, with the Avs publicly acknowledging it but doing so little to pull the trigger and send him on his way."
As for where he could end up? While there have been rumors this summer suggesting the Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators are the favorites to land him, Servalli also added another team to that list, one that would truly shock the hockey world.
"I think one team that would make a lot of sense is the Montreal Canadiens."
More to come.
