Rumor: Vegas looking for significant offers for their best players

The Vegas Golden Knights weren't expecting to win as many games as they have in their inaugural season. They thought they would see how things go and focus on making moves to build a strong future in Sin City.

However, key players are stepped up their game and now GM George McPhee is wondering if he would let them go or re-sign them this summer. During Thursday’s edition of Insider Trading, Bob McKenzie reported the Knights are getting lots of calls about scoring forwards James Neal and David Perron. They are set to become unrestricted free agents in July, and could be moved as rental players to help a rival club in a Cup run.

However, Mckenzie has revealed that unless McPhee gets a significant offer, he’s not moving either guy right now. Though he could move them before the trade deadline, he could also be working on contract extensions. However, for now, no talks have begun on that front.

Perron leads the Golden Knights in points while Neal comes in second, and is their leading goal scorer. The phone is without a doubt ringing in Vegas, as several teams are looking for an offensive boost. The Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers are amongst teams looking to add a forward.

Let's see if Vegas can cash in on a bidding war and focus on getting young players, prospects and picks for a strong future...
