Rumor: Veteran forward has failed to make the Leafs final roster.

A harsh reality for a player with over 750 National Hockey League games.

This has to be a bitter pill for a veteran of over 750 games to swallow.

While it's still not yet official, a report from Sportsnet insider Chris Johnston is claiming that National Hockey League veteran Brooks Laich is destined for the American Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies after failing to secure a spot on the main roster in training camp.

It was revealed earlier today that the Leafs had made a move on the waiver wire acquiring former Bruins forward Seth Griffith leaving them with a large number of forwards on the roster, and it was clear that some players would be moving on in one form or another.

It's unclear what role Laich will serve in at the NHL level this season, if he serves one at all, but there's no doubt that having a veteran of his calibur within the organization remains a positive, even if he's not playing in the big leagues.
