Questionable rumors involving P.K. Subban.

There is a crazy rumor going around Montreal of a three player trade between the Edmonton Oilers and Montreal Canadiens.

The conversation started this morning when both Bob Stouffer and La Presse journalist Marc-Antoine Godin discussed, during a radio program on CHED, the possibility of the Oilers sending both forward Taylor Hall and defenseman Oscar Klefbom to Montreal in order to secure the services of defenseman P.K. Subban.

This would of course be a blockbuster of a trade, but the likelihood of such a deal does not seem very high at all, and in fact one of hockey's top insiders has already addressed the issue, and according to him no such deal is going to happen. TSN's Darren Dreger was a guest on TSN's 690 radio and called this one "media fodder"

“Of course the Montreal Canadiens would consider a deal like that," said Dreger as per Nichols on Hockey. "But look at what the Edmonton Oilers are giving up here. P.K. Subban is a great player. He’s not Bobby Orr. And Taylor Hall is a magnificent piece. He’s not untouchable in Edmonton, but he’s close to untouchable. Connor McDavid is the only untouchable."

“And when Pete Chiarelli was talking with the New York Islanders about Travis Hamonic, he had no interest in including Oscar Klefbom as part of a trade scenario. So you’re going to give up Taylor Hall and Oscar Klefbom for P.K. Subban? I mean, this is just media fodder.”

Given his track record, I'm inclined to lean with Dreger on this one, but it would make for one hell of a deal if it does in fact go down, perhaps with a little more going back Edmonton's way.
