An insider has just dropped a little nugget of information that appears to confirm recent rumors.
Despite the fact that the Colorado Avalanche are reportedly looking to rid themselves of defenseman Tyson Barrie, there where rumors suggesting that they were targeting Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba in a trade.
In a recent report CSN's Joe Haggerty revealed what he believes to be the trading chip being dangled by the Avalanche, and it's a big one.
Hockey sources indicated to CSN that Colorado is dangling Matt Duchene with the hopes of ultimately landing Trouba...
It would be a big move for both clubs, and with the Jets set to acquire Finalnd's Patrik Laine, the addition of a player like Matt Duchene could suddenly provide them with a potent offense. As for the Avalanche, if they do deal Barrie, Trouba would be a very solid replacement on their roster.
