Last week there were rumors of a possible shake up to the New York Islanders power structure, and considering the team has relatively new ownership and is currently struggling in the standings, those rumors came as little surprise. We now have additional information that while not confirming the rumors, certainly seems to suggest they were right on the mark.

On Monday TSN insider Darren Dreger revealed that the Islanders may already be moving towards a big shake up in their front office with the team having reached out to multiple players as well as some very intriguing names. Among the former Islanders are believed to be names like Lafontaine, Flatley, and Healy.

Dreger also added that rumors have now connected the Islanders to former Vancouver Canucks employees, including former general manager Mike Gillis, which very much seems to point to the aforementioned shake up. Dreger went out of his way here to state that nothing is set in stone, and how exactly the Islanders front office will be impacted by this remains unclear.

It does seem to be pointing one way though, and fans will be watching closely to see what develops here.
