We have an absolutely bonkers update on the Matt Duchene trade rumors.
While the rumors have been going on for months we now have a completely new team entering the mix out of nowhere, and it's none other than the Ottawa Senators.
A breaking news report from Senators insider Bruce Garrioch has just revealed that Senators general manager Pierre Dorion is making a play for Duchene, and it sounds like he's hell bent on making the deal a reality.
The Ottawa Senators have done more than kick tires on disgruntled Colorado Avalanche centre Matt Duchene.
Sources say Senators general manager Pierre Dorion has been aggressive in his pursuit of the 26-year-old Duchene, who begrudgingly reported to the Colorado camp last week while he continues to wait for a trade.
Garrioch did add however that the two sides have not yet come close to making the deal a reality, but if Dorion is indeed being aggressive it may only be a matter of time before he makes Colorado Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic an offer he can't refuse.
Stay tuned for more on the Duchene rumors.
