The New York Rangers have loaned forward Vitali Kravtsov to Traktor Chelyabinsk for the duration of the KHL season as the team shops him on the NHL’s trade market.
And two teams, the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators, are reportedly battling to land the talented forward, per insider Frank Seravalli of Daily Face-Off.
Kravtsov was cut from the Rangers’ roster, but refused to report to the AHL Wolf Pack as one of the last cuts out of training camp. The Rangers managed to find an agreement to send him to the Traktor Chelyabinsk. In the meantime though, GM Chris Drury placed the forward on the trade market and Seravalli believes Kravtsov could land either in Ottawa or Montreal.
That’s because Kravtsov has been buzzing ever since he got to the KHL, collecting two goals and one assist in his first game back, including this beauty:
Seravalli points out that Kravtsov’s agent, Dan Milstein, has been given permission to help seek a trade by the Rangers.
Last season with Traktor, Kravtsov recorded 24 points (16-8) in 49 games before joining the Blue Shirts for the final 20 games while posting four points (2-2).
Let’s see what the Senators and Canadiens are willing to offer up in return to land the 21-year-old forward. We will keep an eye on this imminent trade.
