Russian Draft pick flips the bird to the Philadelphia Flyers

Talk about feeling betrayed.

There has been plenty of uncertainty with young Russian prospects of late since the invasion of Ukraine; Russia has been banned from international ice hockey tournaments, while some have gone even farther like former NHL legend Dominik Hasek when he called for NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman to ban all Russians from the League.

The Russian nationality didn't bother the Philadelphia Flyers when they selected highly touted prospect Matvei Michkov with the 7th overall selection in last month's NHL Draft. And while they expect him to be competing for a roster spot two seasons from now, they apparently will not be getting the services of another Russian draft pick.

Goaltender Ivan Fedotov, who was drafted by the Flyers with the 188th overall selection in 2015, has signed with CSKA Moscow for two years, worth 50 million rubles, or approximately $548,00.

Well, it will be back to the drawing board for general manager Danny Briere and company after this latest unfortunate setback.
