New gruesome details emerges from the man himself.
These new details are pretty gruesome.
An official announcement from the Nashville Predators public relations team has revealed that Johansen sustained a left thigh injury, something that was previously reported by Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman, and furthermore that the injury was so severe it required "emergency surgery."
Prior to game 1 of the Stanley Cup final, Ryan Johansen opened up on his devastating injury,
"It was absolutely incredible how much this thing was swelling up," Johansen told TSN1040/1410 Vancouver radio. "I couldn't even believe it looking at it."
"It all started right there. That was the play," Johansen said. "He just kind of led with his knee a little bit, and I was trying to reverse hit him a bit just to create some separation and [he] just got me on the right spot I guess, and it just kept getting worse from there."
To make matters worse for Johansen who is likely devastated by this injury, he now has a massive two to three month recovery time ahead of him, something that will likely cause complications with his offseason routine.
