Whoops!
One of the things that Ryan O'Reilly is going to have to get used to in his new life as a forward for the Toronto Maple Leafs is living life under a microscope. Every move you make on the ice, and even some of the moves you make off of it, will be analyzed over and over again in a hockey crazed market like Toronto and O'Reilly's debut as a Maple Leafs proved to be no exception.
Sharped eyed observers noticed a big mistake from O'Reilly during the pregame warmups for tonight's clash between the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs, one that occurred prior to the game even starting. O'Reilly was engaging in his normal pre-game rituals when he suddenly grabbed a bottle from the Leafs bench and began squirting himself with a red or pink looking liquid.
It seems that O'Reilly was expecting to find water in the bottle but instead accidently doused himself with Biosteel, a sports drink similar to Gatorade. The end result was no doubt something of a sticky mess in the new Leafs forward's hair, but thankfully there was some water on hand and O'Reilly quickly rinsed himself off.
