Ryan Reaves challenges Matt Rempe in the first period.
Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves issues a challenge to Rangers rookie enforcer Matt Rempe.
There are many fans who are anticipating a big clash between Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves and New York Rangers rookie enforcer Matt Rempe, but so far through 20 minutes of hockey no fireworks have been set off.
That wasn't for a lack of trying on the part of Reaves however who did some barking at Rempe during the first period, letting the youngster know that he won't be hard to find. For what it's worth, Rempe did not react to Reaves at all and didn't seem either intimidated or particularly interested by what Reaves was saying.
Rempe is already sporting a pair of black eyes from some of the ferocious fights he has had in the National Hockey League so far and it may be in his best interest to take some time to fully recover before taking on someone like Ryan Reaves.
There are still two periods of action to go however, so still plenty of time for these two to butt heads.
