Not sure what he wanted to accomplish here… See below:

When veteran forward Ryan Reaves was traded by Toronto to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Henry Thrun earlier this month, it felt like did not end so amicably between him and the Maple Leafs.

Following the trade, Reaves spoke to reporters and expressed his frustration at what he described as a lack of trust from those above him in the organization.

“I think there was just a lack of trust very early inthe season,” said a frustrated Reaves.

Reaves, whose play was often the subject of criticism from pundits and fans when he did play, felt that he was walking on eggshells with one mistake potentially costing him several games each time.

“It just kind of looked like I had one bad game and I was out of the lineup for 4,5,6,7,8,9, games.”

Even when he did play well for the Maple Leafs last season, the highly respected enforcer felt he didn’t receive a fair shake.

“I would come back in, have a good game, but you know taken right back out,” said Reaves. “I just could never really gain any momentum with my game, couldn’t really gain any traction.”

One could argue that Reaves simply did not play well enough to earn a regular spot in the lineup, but Reaves attributed his inconsistent play to the inconsistent ice time he was receiving.

“It’s hard to play when you play like that,” said Reaves. “It’s hard to play when you’re only playing every 5-6 games.”

“They didn’t see a fit for me in the lineup and it is what it is,” said Reaves in conclusion.

His complaints did not stop Reaves from posting a message on his Instagram account, thanking his former team for the past two seasons, though fans were left wanting more. Let’s just say Reaves didn’t have a whole to say…

"Thank u Toronto," he simply wrote.

While I get that Reaves may not be the best at expressing his feelings, fans wanted more from the veteran player who still managed to entertain them by dropping the gloves and chirping the opponents.

They only got a thank you and for some, it leaves a sour taste in their mouths.
