Ryan Whitney is convinced he knows where Patrick Kane will be traded!

And it kinda sounds farfetched to be honest…

Last month, former NHL forward Paul Bissonnette predicted where Patrick Kane will ended being traded on the air of the Spittin Chiclets podcast, stating he was certain the star forward will end up with the Toronto Maple Leafs at the trade deadline.

”The rumblings have started and people are going to talk about the cap space as well, you’re gonna see the greatest, as it stands, U.S. hockey player to ever play the game, pass the torch to Auston Matthews in his final couple seasons.”

He added, ”He’s going to probably re-sign after the $10 million he’s making and take a hometown discount just like [Mark] Giordano did, just like everybody else.”

His colleague on the Spittin Chiclets podcast Ryan Whitney now doubled down with a bold prediction of his own, saying Kane is going home to the Buffalo Sabres. He is confident the Sabres will do everything they can to get the forward there.

“I already said he’s going to Buffalo, he’s going back home,” said Whitney with confidence earlier this week. “The Buffalo Sabres are going to celebrate a Stanley Cup Championship with Patrick Kane, after the Buffalo Bills celebrate a Super Bowl championship with Josh Allen.”

It sounds farfetched to imagine the Sabres in the playoff run this season… but we’v seen crazier things.

Kane will most likely look to join a contender as a playoff rental before the 2023 trade deadline. It could depend on how where teams land on the standings and Kane could pick one that can pull off a trade and make it all the way to the Stanley Cup.

There is a sense that Kane is after at least one last championship before he hangs up the skates - and we all know that’s not going to happen in Chicago.

Is Bissonnette right about Kane’s destination, or does Whitney have a better pick with Buffalo?
