Sabourin gets ejected from the game… for being an idiot!

He got a fine on top of it!

The Ottawa Senators were destroyed by the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night and it seems like the 5-1 blowout loss hit forward Scott Sabourin so hard that he lost his senses.

With less than nine minutes left in the contest, Sabourin was ejected from the game after he decided it would be a good idea to squirt a little water to the face of Jets’ Mark Scheifele.

We’re not saying here that’s a dangerous that should be punished with a game misconduct, no. The water didn’t even hit Scheifele in the face!

However, you have to admit it was a stupid move by the enforcer and the official had had enough. So off to the dressing room he went!

Just for being an idiot who wanted to send a lame message with a water bottle…

After the game, Scheifele was asked about the move from Sabourin and also believes it was ridiculous.

“I didn’t really care, it was kind of stupid. It doesn’t really bother me, if it got in my face or, you know, I might have been a little more mad but, you know, it was kind of stupid.”

On top of that, Sabourin was fined $1,881.72, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

We’re pretty sure Sabourin won’t pull that move again. Unless he’s willing to look like an idiot who will get ejected and fined again!
