Sabres desperate to get Eichel help up front!

Might be the only way to keep him in Buffalo…

The Sabres are desperately trying to hold on to their captain Jack Eichel, who has not demanded a trade, but could be getting fed up with losing and not making the playoffs after five years in Buffalo.

Like they can still count on him to carry the team on his back, Darren Dreger suggests general manager Jason Botterhill can some help up front prior to the trade deadline, to support Eichel.

Botterhill could use his blue line to bolster his offence.

“We know if Buffalo that Jason Botterill is continuing his search for a forward. I mean, man it’s a tire fire in Buffalo right now and it is white hot in Buffalo as well so Botterill may have to get really creative. Rasmus Ristolainen’s name has been out there for a while. Again, not being shopped per say, but I’m going to throw another defenseman in the mix and that’s Brandon Montour. This will be a real tough move for the Buffalo Sabres if they have to make it. He’s been playing well. It’s a difficult one to make before the trade deadline. And the only way they’d consider moving Montour or Ristolainen, is if Botterill secures a top-six forward back. So, stay tuned.”

The seat must be getting hot under Botterhill at this point and we can’t imagine how burning it will be if Eichel wants out…
