A legend from the past is speaking out about the terrible job Kevyn Adams is doing in Buffalo.
The Buffalo Sabres have been a team that has struggled to be competitive over the past several seasons and with the team off to a 1-3 start to kick off the 2025-26 National Hockey League regular season, critics are already out in full force.
This past week was no exception and unfortunately for current Buffalo Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams, he found himself squarely in the crosshairs of that criticism after another shoddy start for his team.
Legendary former Sabres enforcer Matthew Barnaby recently shared his thoughts on the job Adams has done in his role as the GM of the Sabres and, perhaps unsurprisingly, Barnaby was blunt and held nothing back. Much like he did during his career as an enforcer in the NHL, Barnaby fired off a series of shots with seemingly no regard for the target of those shots.
"He just had to be in the right place at the right time when they were cutting budgets," said Barnaby of Adams. "I guarantee he's coming on the cheap."
Barnaby continued his assault on Adams' tenure as general manager, showing absolutely no respect for his fellow NHL alumni.
"He's gotta be the lowest paid GM in the league and essentially a yes man," added Barnaby.
Barnaby was critical of the fact that Adams came into the role without any real experience for the job.
"He had no pedigree and we are seeing it," said Barnaby.
The former NHL enforcer stated flatly that Adams isn't someone that anyone should want in his current role.
"That's not what I want from my hockey team if I'm the owner and it's certainly not what I want if I am a fan," admitted Barnaby.
Barnaby expects that Adams will be let go if the team continues their terrible start to the season, although he admits he has expected that announcement for some time now.
"I've been expecting him to be let go for a couple years now," said Barnaby in conclusion.
