Don’t look now, Detroit Red Wings fans.
After ownership announced that this would be the last season played at the Joe Louis Arena, the city has decided to auction off its 20,000 seats.
Louis Aguilar of The Detroit News reports that certain items such as banners and statues will remain the property of the Red Wings, while the rest will simply be demolished after the team relocates to their new arena only a few short miles away.
The building named after legendary boxer Joe Louis has been home to the Red Wings since 1979.
