Wanna feel old?

Buckle up, old timer.

Aatos Koivu, the 17 year old son of former Montreal Canadiens captain Saku Koivu, has scored an absolutely beautiful shootout winning goal for Finland's U18 national team.

Check it out:

The best part? Aatos' father scored a nearly identical goal, just mirror reversed, during his time with the Habs.

The apple don't far from the tree!

For what it's worth, the junior Koivu is eligible for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He has reportedly put on nearly 40 pounds of muscle in the past couple seasons and is starting to generate the interest of NHL scouts. He has played mostly with Finnish team Turun Palloseura's junior team, putting up 21 goals and 40 points in 40 games last season.

Keep an eye on this kid. He could turn heads for Finland at the upcoming World Junior Championships, assuming he cracks the roster.

Of course, Aatos has a long, long, looooong way to go if he hopes to match the career accolades of his father. Or, frankly, even to match the career accolades of his Uncle Mikko Koivu.

Saku put up 255 goals and 832 points in 1,124 career regular season games with the Canadiens and Anaheim ducks over the course of his 18 year NHL career. He's obviously most known for captaining the Canadiens and for his courageous comeback from cancer in 2002.

Personally, I will NEVER forget the ovation that Koivu received from the Habs faithful when he miraculously made his return to action after defeating non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He received a standing ovation from EVERYONE in the building, including his opponents, for the entire pre-game ceremony AND the singing of 'O Canada'.

I get chills every time I watch that video.

That sentiment was matched over 10 years later in 2013 when Koivu made his final appearance in Montreal before retiring from the NHL for good.

Again... absolute chills.
