The Minnesota Wild have been dealing with a significant number of injuries this season, and unfortunately due to their current salary cap situation it has resulted in some major headaches when it comes to making roster call ups to replace those injured players.

On Wednesday the Wild got some bad news, albeit bad news with a silver lining that allowed them to facilitate some more roster shuffling. According to a report from the Pioneer Press the Wild have placed Marco Scandella on long-term injured reserve, certainly not a positive by any stretch of the imagination, but the cap savings they will recoup as a result have allowed them to make some call ups.

As a result the Wild have been able to add defenseman Mike Reilly and forwards Christoph Bertschy and Zack Mitchell, all from the Iowa Wild, to their National Hockey League line up. In the case of Zack Mitchell it will be his NHL debut, something to keep an eye on for fans of the team.
