Sam Bennett absolutely sends Cole Sillinger into orbit with enormous hit

Kind of bush league from Bennett... game is out of reach and Sillinger is a teenager. Thoughts?

In the late goings of a bit of a blowout win for the Columbus Blue Jackets over the Florida Panthers this evening, Panthers forward Sam Bennett laid an absolutely devastating hit on Blue Jackets rookie Cole Sillinger sending Sillinger flying into the end boards.

Sillinger was going for an empty net goal and Bennett just trucks him with a clean hit.

Check it out:

Okay, first thing's first... I actually have no problem with this hit. It's a clean hit plain and simple. Bennett catches Sillinger when he's not expecting it and just delivers a devastating hit. No problem with the hit.

HOWEVER...

This is a chickenshit move from Bennett.

The game is over, Sillinger is in a vulnerable position and Bennett takes his opportunity to absolutely demolish the kid. Again, with a clean hit. You're allowed to demolish guys with a clean hit, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. The fact of the matter though is that Bennett wasn't made to stick up for himself as none of the Blue Jackets players came to Sillinger's defense.

You can pull chickenshit stuff like this, but it usually comes back to bite you in the behind. Tonight though, Bennett got off scot free. To me, that's on the Blue Jackets though, not on Bennett.

In short, good hit but I hate the response from the Blue Jackets.
