Sam Gagner reportedly signs a tryout (PTO) contract with a new NHL team
The 35 year old ain't done yet!
According to multiple online reports, the Carolina Hurricanes are expected to bring veteran forward Sam Gagner into training camp on a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
The 35 year old forward is still an unrestricted free agent free to sign with any team. He put up five goals and 10 points in 28 games last season with the Edmonton Oilers and a further nine points in 15 games with the Oilers' AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors.
In total he has 197 goals and 529 points in 1043 games split between the Oilers, Arizona Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Vancouver Canucks, Detroit Red Wings and Winnipeg Jets. He's been a journeyman for years now, bouncing around the league and chipping in with some depth offense. Here's hoping that he catches on with the Hurricanes so that he can continue his stellar career.
