Samuel Savoie carried out on a stretcher on Saturday night.

19 year old Chicago Blackhawks forward Samuel Savoie was in a lot of pain on Saturday night as he was carted off on a stretcher.

You hate to see something like this happen to any player, especially one as young as 19 year old Chicago Blackhawks forward Samuel Savoie.

On Saturday night, Savoie appeared to suffer a serious injury when a failed attempt at a body check resulted in him crashing violently into the boards at a terrible angle. Savoie went into the boards legs first and from certain camera angles you can see that his lower body was folded up like an accordian as a result of that impact.

While watching the play live it didn't seem to be that bad of a collision, but as you will see from the reverse angle in the short clip below, it looked much, much, worse with the benefit of slow motion and multiple camera angles.

According to Blackhawks reporter Charlie Roumeliotis, Savoie was "screaming in pain" while down on the ice and had to be carried out on a stretcher, unable to leave under his own power.

Despite being in a great deal of pain, Savoie did manage to give the crowd a thumbs up as he was carried off the ice which brought everyone in attendance to their feet.
