Near the end of the 2nd period of tonight’s game between the New York Islanders and Toronto Maple Leafs, Islanders blue liner Johnny Boychuk took a Mitch Marner skate blade to the neck area.
Boychuk immediately left the ice with a bloody towel wrapped around his throat.

Yikes… that’s scary, scary stuff.
Here’s hoping Boychuk is alright. Standby for an official update from the team.
UPDATE: Boychuk has returned to the bench, but has yet to play in the third period. At the very least, he seems healthy. Thank goodness.
