Fan favourite Scott Hartnell has talked about the officiating issues that have taken place since the start of the postseason, and in the process, the many critics from the NHL fans have given him an idea.
On Friday, during Game 4 of the series between the St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks - in which the latest officiating controversy took place - Hartnell posted on his personal Twitter account that he would consider becoming an NHL referee if he got enough retweets.
“I have a lot of respect for all referees and linesman but if I get enough retweet’s I might try out to be one!”
Now we don’t know how many will be enough to convince Hartnell to start a new career on NHL ice, however, you are the only one who can help him by giving him a retweet.
Hartnell played 17 seasons in the NHL – the first six and last one with the Nashville Predators, who picked him sixth overall in the 2000 draft. He spent seven seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers and two with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Wherever he played, Hartnell became a fan favourite. His funky hair and humour were loved across the league, and who knows, could be an added bonus to his knowledge of the rulebook…
