The NHL throws down the hammer!
This just in, NHL Player Safety has suspended Tampa Bay Lightning forward Scott Sabourin for 4 regular season games for roughing Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad.
In their ruling, NHL Player Safety stated that "this was an intentional act done by a player for the purpose of retribution and message sending. This is not a hockey play gone wrong. From the moment that he throws the body check, Sabourin completely disregards the play. Dropping his gloves and throwing a forceful, barehanded punch to an unwilling opponent."
