Scott Wedgewood signs a new deal with the Colorado Avalanche

This just in, the Colorado Avalanche have signed goaltender Scott Wedgewood to a one year contract extension worth $2.5 million.

Wedgewood is in the final year of a two year deal that pays him $1.5 million, so this next deal takes him through next season. He'll be an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2027.

Wedgewood has been outstanding for the Avs so far this season. He leads the NHL in wins and has an outstanding .913 save percentage and 2.26 goals against average in 14 games. This is an absolutely stellar signing by the Avs.
