Sean Avery raises eyebrows with latest admission

Former National Hockey League forward Sean Avery quickly garnered a reputation for being one of the NHL's most notorious pests due to his constant trash talking and on (and off) ice antics. Throughout his career with the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, and Dallas Stars, he was always one of hockey's most hated players. 

Shortly after his retirement from professional hockey, he would delve into the world of fashion and has hosted a weekly podcast since late 2019 titled No Gruffs Given with Sean Avery. But as well-known as Avery is in hockey circles, fans may still be surprised when they see what he bought shortly into his playing career.

A media profile on Instagram known as Hockey Forever HQ recently spoke with Avery for a story in which ex-players detailed what they decided to splurge on after receiving their first hockey paycheck.
