The Philadelphia Flyers may have a bit of a schism in their locker room.

Flyers captain Sean Couturier is making headlines for recent comments he made about the performance of Flyers star forward Matvei Michkov, seemingly burying his own teammate. Couturier, unprompted, offered up criticism of how Michkov has been playing away from the puck and publicly challenged him to change things in order to be a better contributor to his team's chances of success on the ice.

"Yeah he's a great goal scorer and has a lot of skill," began Couturier. "I think you just gotta find a way to contribute, helping the team win in other ways when you're struggling. You're not always gonna be scoring goals every game."

Couturier doubled down on those comments, seemingly in alignment with Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet on this matter, suggesting that Michkov needs to keep playing the right way.

"If he sticks to playing more the right way I think it's going to be better for the team overall."

Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet has been openly critical of the way Michkov has played at times this season and it has been reflected in the star forward's ice time, with Michkov even being glued to the bench for extended periods of time when Tocchet has been displeased with his play. In fact it has been such a big issue that Michkov's ice time has dipped below 15 minutes this season, with an average time on ice of just 14 minutes and 49 seconds per game under Tocchet's leadership.

Based on Couturier's recent comments, I suspect that Tocchet isn't the only member of the Flyers to feel some frustrations with how Michkov has played thus far.
