The writing was on the wall for Ottawa Senators head coach Dave Cameron, and when the season ended, even before he was eventually fired from his position, rumors were circulating about his potential replacement behind the bench.

While there were many names rumored, like former National Hockey League coaches, Marc Crawford and Guy Boucher, current NHL coaches like Claude Julien of the Boston Bruins, and American Hockey League coaches like Todd Nelson of the Grand Rapids Griffins, one name, that of former Minnesota Wild head coach Mike Yeo, always seemed to top the list.

On Tuesday TSN insider Darren Dreger revealed that the Senators had started their interview process for a new head coach, and furthermore, Dreger added that he had been informed by sources that newly appointed Senators general manager Pierre Dorion had already met with Mike Yeo over the week end. There's no word yet on when a decision is expected, but don't be surprised if Mike Yeo is the man announced when the search for a head coach comes to an end.
